Best of Highpoint Market - Custom Finishes

Painted Furniture, Custom Casegoods, We've gotcha covered:

One of the BEST parts about many of our furniture lines is the customization opportunities. When we say the sky is the limit...we really mean it! This is the same console in 4 different finishes...and that is only the tip of the iceberg! We can't wait to try new finishes in unique ways.

Best Of Highpoint Market - Layering!

As most of you know, we took a trip to Highpoint Market in North Carolina last week and learned, saw and gathered so much knowledge! So much, that we are going to do a blog series on the "Best of Highpoint" so you can all see what we have to offer our clients!

A big game changer for us was the unique and different way things were merchandised in cabinets, on consoles, or within artwork.

LAYERING - In almost every showroom we went in, artwork and mirrors were layered, layered, and layered. These images are from the Drexel Heritage showroom.
We loved the texture and depth the layers created. Taking a piece of artwork hung on the wall and then layering a propped mirror in front of it gives a whole new look of different.
Lamps, books and accessories also help with adding dimension and interest in the layerings.
Here are a few magazine examples of how this is done...perfect.

What do you think about layering??

Traditional turned Transitional Beauty!

A traditional home transformed into a light, airy and transitional masterpiece....what fun!

By using soft blues, warm golds, and creams, we incorporated a bit of whimsy in the rug along with geometric striped chair upholstery and small chevron window treatments for this beautiful dining room. The client kept her existing dining table and side chairs and we came in to add the striped chairs and other items!

And the most stunning sectional is the framework for this comfortable, and beautiful family room.

With the dark woven woods, cream sheer drapery panels this room really stood out.

A Citrine and Red Palette turned Transitional!

We had a lot of fun putting together this great living room for our client!

She trusted us to help her step out of her comfort zone a little bit ;) and we transformed her traditional living room to give it a more fresh, clean lined and transitional feel.

These citrine pattern lounge chairs are from Taylor King. **hint, check out the end of the post for a look at the back of these chairs!

We were able to create a cohesive plan with the rest of her home by bringing in these red pillows with a touch of citrine in the floral.

The coffee table with the sunburst, antiqued mirror top is from Hekman and we set it with this swirl Uttermost bowl and accent spheres.

The cream (and quite comfortable sofa) is from Vanguard

And the amazing "X" back of the Taylor King Chairs... so cool.

We were very excited with the final product!

Gold is the new Silver!

Gold Rush!
Here at Highpoint Market we are seeing more and more GOLD in the finishes, casegoods and accessories.

At Bernhardt they pair the gold with mirrors and antique mirrors to create a beautiful reflection and contrast.

This bone color chest with the accent gold hardware instantly becomes unique with the touch of added gold!

Mirrors! Who doesn't love a great, sunburst mirror...in gold?

We are acquiring new lines and learning so much about all the new furniture and accessories on the market. Can't wait to share more!

Coastal Living Collection at Highpoint!

Remember my visit to the Coastal Living's Ultimate Beach House this summer?? Well I am here in North Carolina this week at the Highpoint Market and we are seeing more and more of the Coastal Living Collection at Stanley Furniture...a new line for us!

The soft colors, clean lines and transitional feel is exactly what we like here at Traci Connell Interiors ;)

No bed is complete without a good bed bench!

Everything from furniture to lighting...and in between!

The painted furniture is all the rage here at Highpoint!

Stay tuned for more exciting news and great pictures from my trip to Highpoint Market!

Fall is in the Air...and Design!

While we have all been waiting for the warm weather to move out and the cool weather to make it's appearance, we have been spicing up interiors to bring the Autumn weather indoors!

JF Fabrics and TCS Designs
Gearing up for major entertainment in the next few months, here are two lines we carry that we use daily and love to implement as much as possible!
(I have fondly renamed TCS as Traci Connell Seating;)
TCS Designs create custom seating for our clients and we are able to use JF Fabrics for the upholstery. JF is a versatile fabric line from contemporary to transitional.

Our representative for these two lines is Stacy Coulter from Stacy Coulter Associates

Fall Tips and Tricks
This Autumn season we have been seeing more metallic, monochromatic decor in a much more sophisticated manner. Z Gallerie put these "inspiration boards" together for a great visual!

Try the "less is more" approach when it comes to holiday decorating and choose your items wisely. We are loving the soft orange colors mixed with the white gold metallic look on the metal pieces!
Bring the decor onto your tabletops by coordinating your flatware, china, and place mats to join in the fresh, new Autumn color scheme of pumpkin, cream, silver and white!

Coming up...Highpoint Market!
We are heading up to North Carolina over the weekend to witness first hand all the new furniture lines, fabrics designs and most importantly...learn how to better furnish our clients homes! Say tuned for more news on this next month!
