Happy Easter!!!

Client Fun: The Box Pleat

A Friday Funny.... at least we thought so:)

If you remember our client fondly referred to as "New York, New York", we are still making our way through his house. The modern remodel took a year to complete and now we are redesigning almost every space with new, contemporary furnishings.

We proposed a box pleated pair of panels for his swanky game room and he requested a
few pictures of the pleat style. Being in the mood that we were, Courtney sent him this...

We did get an initial chuckle after his notice of the
"box pleat skirt"
and of course, we didn't leave him hanging by sending this along too

Sometimes we crack ourselves up...
even if it is an inside joke:)

Client Project Reveal: Colorful, Modern Game Room

This is why I do what I do!!!!

A successful client project is measured by a response like the one above...
(and look at me... just as happy as the homeowner:)

Courtney and I dug way deep in the creativity bucket
(as well as the paint bucket) to design this multifunctional,
colorful gameroom for an active family.

BEFORE:

For the remodel portion of this job, TCI incorporated a custom craft area,
broke into the wall to find unused space for a bar and redesigned the entertainment unit.

We added drop pendants over work station and sleek sconces to the bar,
as well as task lighting using unique lamps.

The Vanguard custom barstools were a hit and are comfy to boot!

Solution to a design dilemma:
Behind the large canvas art piece is a door to the attic-
GONE!
Art is on installed on L brackets for easy on and easy off.

(Custom touch, the artist incorporated their last name initial
G in the top corner and IV for number of family members-
we all love it)

Custom painted nesting tables by CTH Sherrill and storage ottoman with
faux leather on the top for durability- also by Vanguard

Ahhh, the paint can wall decor! Check the blog on Monday
for the tutorial on how we pulled this one off!!!

Last but not least, our perfect mascot Izzy settled on our perfect Surya rug-

Thanks to our lovely clients for allowing us to help create this
beautiful entertainment space in your home.

Color of the Season: Marigold

Pottery Barn and West Elm have let us all know
Loud and Clear that the color of the season is....

MARIGOLD!

What a fun, bright and happy color to lead us into this springtime season?

My Lil' Brit daughter wanted to know what accent color to use in
her flat... guess what I said?:)

In a custom home we are knee deep in right now, we are actually incorporating this
marigold color into the owner's kitchen with this Beauty:

Love. this. Cyan

Look around and you will see this color popping up in the most uncommon places!

From home decor to fashion, step into the sunshine and out of the wintery drab!

It's the color of Happy,

Greek Key Pattern

Right now, we are really loving this simple, graphic, clean pattern.

GREEK KEY
What's so great about it, you ask??

It really can be transformed to mesh in any type of space! Throw it in a more traditional
home and you get an instant fresh look.

There are so many variations of the greek key pattern out there,
that your options are really endless.

You can use it as wallpaper: As shown in this Jonathon Alder Collection

Or Bedding:!

A new favorite, is the interpretation of the greek key in drapery and on cornice boards.

Another design fav is this adorable cocktail table.
Jazz up your furniture!

and even mirrors: love love this!

Courtney recently made a floor pouf out of a grey greek key patterned fabric for her own home!

Will you love the greek key as well???
